Dear NOAA Employee:

The Compassion of Individuals becomes the Power of the Community when you support this year's Combined Federal Campaign of the National Capital Area. I am privileged to announce the 2009 NOAA Combined Federal Campaign (CFC), which is the one time the federal government allows thousands of charities to seek contributions directly from federal employees. The CFC charities have passed rigorous application criteria, and they represent a large variety of charities that assist on local, regional, national and international levels.

During the 2008 CFC, NOAA employees like you contributed over $788,000 to numerous charities throughout the National Capital Area region. Even a small donation - $1, $5, or $10 - can go a long way for many of these charities. Contributions from federal employees serve as a powerful tool to inspire, encourage, and assist others, and allow people to address life's challenges. Your donation makes a difference. I encourage you to take the time to contribute to the CFC this year and by supporting the campaign, you will be helping those who need it most.

Sincerely,

Dr. Jane Lubchenco
Under Secretary of Commerce for Oceans and Atmosphere and NOAA Administrator
